Mercedes CLK W208 Tuning Background The CLK W208 was first introduced in 1998. Available as the CLK 320, 430 and later on the 55 AMG, all models were available in both coupe and convertible. The W208 CLK was produced from the 1998 - 2002 model years with cabriolets still available for 2003. W208 CLK 320s are powered by a 3.2 liter V6, 430s by a 4.3 liter V8, and the 55 AMG by a 5.4 liter V8. The CLK was redesigned for the 2003 model year as the W209. The W209 Cabriolets followed in 2004. Among several other changes, the newer W209 is slightly longer and wider than the W208. Current models include the 350, 500, and 55 AMG. Also produced, but not available in the U.S., was the CLK DTM AMG. Roughly 100 of these super cars were built for the street and offered for sale in Europe. The CLK DTM AMG is powered by a supercharged 5.5 liter V8 that produces roughly 582 HP and 590 ft/lbs. of torque, making the car capable of 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph!
